Well I'll be DAMNED! Its Holiday Time!

Happy Holidays Everyone!    I have the pleasure of beginning a series this month featuring some of my favorite bloggers,  their Holiday styles and their  "Must Haves" for the season.  This series will be every Thursday in December until the end of the year and will be combined with my Holiday Giveaway! So excited...How about you?

First up is a sooooo fabulously chic blogger, Tikisha, of Kandidkoilz.onsugar.com who will always leaves us with a few smooches. I continue to read her blog because she keeps me up with the latest make-up and style trends. I love her boldness, sense of humor and her no excuses attitude....
This holiday season she has decided to get "Damned" by the ladies of the Damn Salon with City Twists and I'll be damned if I'm not a little jealous.  @kandidkoilz ,on twitter, has decided to style her hair in an updo for the season's events. Styling these twists couldn't be easier, no pins required..just grab a few pieces, tie them to hold the hair in place then tuck and roll...Voila (she tells me)....
I couldn't let her leave without getting a few of her "Must Haves" of 2011 and she was kind enough to share!

Hair Oils are a must because she likes to oil her scalp....Hairveda Cocasta or Afroveda Shikakai make the list. Also  mixed oils with water spritzed all over & Oyin's Burnt Sugar round out her natural hair needs.

When it comes to enhancing her beauty  her perfect holiday looks must include: a gorgeous Metallic eye like Bobbi Brown Forest and a RED lip...of course don't forget dramatic lashes!

Check out her blog for great pics and info on other holiday looks.

I don't wear makeup often because I never learn how to apply it. I do wear a little eye shadow at time & Kandid eyeshadow is beautiful...inspired me to keep trying --want my eyes to look that beautiful. Thank you mslawanda and Kandid for great blogs.

I read a couple of Nubie's post. She is pretty hilarious. However, I was inspired by her obsession with makeup. I now want to amp my eyes up, by blending as shown in the, kat von d write up, although I have no place to go. Wish me luck!

Embracing a New Chapter: Adventures of a New Grandmother at 50!

As the winds of change blow through my life, I find myself standing at the threshold of a thrilling new chapter: grandmotherhood! Yes, you read that right—I recently celebrated my 50th birthday, and to add an extra sprinkle of joy, my youngest son and his partner are expecting their first child. Cue the confetti and baby giggles! It's been over two decades since I last cradled a newborn in my arms, and the prospect of becoming a grandmother fills me with an indescribable mix of excitement, nostalgia, and a touch of apprehension. While I'm overjoyed at the prospect of cuddling a little bundle of joy again, there's no denying that navigating this new role comes with its own set of challenges and adventures. Balancing the excitement of impending grandmotherhood with the reality of supporting my adult children through this life-changing journey is a delicate dance. From offering sage advice and sharing in their joy to resisting the urge to overwhelm them with too much "h...

Embracing Grace: A Journey to Natural Gray Hair

As the wind blows, so too does the passage of time, marking the transitions in our lives. One such transition that many individuals face is the emergence of gray hair. It's a journey that goes beyond just the physical changes; it's a journey of self-acceptance, confidence, and embracing the natural beauty that comes with age. For me, this journey began when I turned 50 in December 2023. It was a milestone birthday, and I decided it was time to bid farewell to the routine of hair dyeing and embrace the authenticity of my graying locks. Little did I know, this decision would spark a profound transformation, not just in my appearance, but in my outlook on aging. However, my decision to let my gray hair shine wasn't met with unanimous applause. I encountered a barrage of negative feedback, with many projecting their own insecurities onto me, expressing concerns about looking older. Yet, amidst the sea of doubt, one unwavering beacon of support stood by my side – my husband. H...
